Domesticated

Today started with me waking to some weird sound. As I slowly woke up, I realized something was vibrating. For a couple minutes, I laid there wondering why my alarm clock was vibrating instead of making a loud obnoxious noise. It took me a while to realize that it wasn't just a dream, and I indeed did have a cell phone. And it was definitely five past noon. Olivier Mutis proceeded to knock out the last remaining American in the French Open, and my day didn't go much better.

In other news, I'm becoming domesticated. Went grocery shopping at Costco. Bought huge masses of meat and seafood. Spent over an hour separating and cleaning the meats to be frozen. Prepared and cooked dinner. Washed the dishes.

That's been a pretty big chunk of my summer so far, along with going to the Georgetown medical center with my dad. And I'm becoming a regular customer at CVS, dropping off or picking up prescriptions almost every day.

Other exciting jobs have included carpentry work, delivering furniture, and attempting to unlock DK Jr. on Mario Tennis -- though Crystal ended up doing that herself :-)

Ha! And I thought I might have some time to get a job. Well, maybe I will soon, as my dad's treatment starts slowing down. It would be the coolest thing to work at the Apple store in Montgomery Mall, but I'm not sure if that's going to work out. Haha.. did you know that the main Apple office is located at 1 Infinite Loop in Cupertino, CA?

Yay! New Strong Bad Email: theme park. There's also some new stuff from the main page, including the cheatar and a recording session with Homestar and TMBG.

My sister sent me all her digital pictures so I can burn them on a CD for her. Here's one from Christmas to finish off this alread-too-long blog entry:

So.. what are you up to now?

Today was filled with catching up with old friends and meeting new people. Obviously, the question of, what are you up to now? came up quite a bit. Yay for not knowing what the future holds. Well, I guess I know a little of what's going on. I'll be home for the summer, and then back at Vanderbilt for a semester in the fall finishing the Master's program. Other than that, I have no idea. So much is not in our control, no matter how hard we try.

it's kind of like this plate of unfinished food... but, not really.

Been hearing lots of Switchfoot on the radio recently. I've heard them on 99.5 and 101.1 so far. Here's a video (hi med lo bandwidth) I took in the car as Meant to Live was playing. I don't know.. kind of random, but what's the point of having a camera in an Altoids tin if you don't take random movies just because a cool song is on the radio?

New Beginnings

Along with graduation and the moving out from our wonderful suite 1401, comes the demise of my two servers (jaytee2, the Windows server hosting my blog and other things; and jaytee3, the Linux server hosting my photo gallery and other things). I'm now using the free hosting I have through the 3 year (was it 1 year or 3 years? I hope it's 3) trial with 1&1 hosting. I've started a new photo gallery here (easily accesible at http://jayteepics.webhop.org), and I'm now starting this blog powered by Movable Type. We'll see how it goes. As for how post-graduation life has been so far, I'll post again when I get a chance. That's all for now.
