Converted

I am finally a devout Firefox user. After using it as a backup browser for a while, I've downloaded 1.0 PR, and made it my default browser! I've even started using Thunderbird. It makes me feel cool.

Alright. Nerdiness aside, what else?

Both the Redskins and the Titans lost on Sunday :-(

The other day, I noticed a light switch in my room that I never noticed before. (It's been, what, almost a month already?) So, I flipped the switch, and... my closet lit up! How cool is that. I'm not sure why I would ever need that, but it was indeed cool.

Oh.. I know! Random sound clip from the weekend:

Persons 1 & 2: [discussing The Passion of the Christ]
Me: "Did you hear they're coming out with a sequel?"
[Silence]
Person 2: "Really!?"

I'm sitting in my office, and I smell feet. I don't think they're my feet, though.

Rule #2

Everyone knows rule #1 of grocery shopping: never go grocery shopping when you're hungry. But I only today learned rule #2 of grocery shopping: never go grocery shopping right after you deposit a paycheck.

So, I was at Kroger the other day... (haha.. I just wanted to say that :-P)

Actually, I do have a Kroger story. Ben & Jerry's ice cream was on sale today. Long time readers of my blog will know that my favorite flavor is Oatmeal Cookie Chunk, brought back due to popular demand earlier this year. I was just about to grab a pint, when I realized every other flavor was on sale, except O.C.C. The original price was about 30 cents more expensive!! How sad. I ended up getting Pistachio Pistachio.

Saw Jars of Clay on Sunday. Great show. (I always feel like I have to put any bands I see here). Didn't have my camera with me, unfortunately.

This picture of my ceiling fan is now my desktop background.

Music, emails, and more music

One of the benefits of having a bathroom connected to your bedroom is that you can listen to music while you take a dump. TMI? Probably...

Yesterday, I received this email:

To: Jason Tan
From: Rocketown Records
Subject: Congratulations
Date: Tue, 31 Aug 2004 15:15:00 -0700

Congratulations...

For about a week now we've been having a random drawing from the Rocketown Records e-newsletter list. You have been selected as this week's winner!

You have won your choice of any 5 Rocketown Record CD's. To claim your prize, please e-mail john@rocketownrecords.com or call 615.503.**** x25 with your mailing address.

Thanks so much for your interest in Rocketown Records and Rocketown artists!

Awesome!! So, I sent an email to this John dude, with my address, and the 5 CDs I wanted. About 15 minutes later, I get an email back:

From: "John Andrade" <john@rocketownrecords.com>
To: "Jason Tan"
Subject: RE: Congratulations
Date: Wed, 1 Sep 2004 11:26:55 -0500

Sorry about that last e-mail... Please ignore it. Due to an error in
our system, the "Congratulations" letter was sent to everyone on the
Rocketown e-news list. My deepest apologizes for this mistake. We will delete the e-mail you sent us. If you sent in your mailing address, it will be ignored and deleted.

But hey... everyone is a winner at Rocketown. Only not everyone gets
free CD's.

Thanks for your understanding...
RR Web Team

Bah! Oh well...

General update: Things are going well. Classes are pretty cool, TAing and HDing is going well. Still getting the occasional, what are you still doing here?! comments, and such. Really glad that I'm so close to campus this semester. The end.

Ohhh.. I almost forgot. The Bleach farewell show was awesome. SDJ/Matthew was awesome, as were Relient K, Holland, and the Supertones. But the Bleach show blew me away. The emotions of playing your last show ever after 10 years of rockin out is indescribable (apparently, undescribable is not a word, as I just found out.)
