Homecoming
Airplanes still amaze me. One moment, I'm sitting in my apartment in Nashville eating a bowl of Kroger-brand banana nut crunch. The next moment, I'm at home in Maryland eating my mom's dumplings and cooking Chinese brocoli with real garlic, and not Matt's Huge Tub Of Chopped And Processed Garlic (TM). Nothing against your garlic, Matt... I've been using it quite a bit. Thanks!
It's been good being home. Different, but the same. Something like that.
Gideon and I went to El Mexicano to get the fried ice cream. You know, the deep fried battered ice cream, right? Wrong. Their version of fried ice cream involves a scoop of vanilla ice cream covered with frosted flakes in a taco salad bowl. Chi Chi's, where have you gone?
Speaking of random desserts, I had way too much moon cake today. Why Angela has a box of moon cakes when moon festival was a couple weeks ago, I do not know. But, good stuff. Slurpees when it's cold outside is also good.
Hmm... no new or related pictures to post here. How about this:

Peace!

Howieeeee
Howie Day and Nickel Creek last night... so good!
Howie was awesome. He did a great version of Ghost, my favoirte song. I'm so amazed that he can lay down a such a sweet drum beat and bass line all on his guitar. And then some crazy guitar riffs and vocal effects in there... who needs a full band, anyways? Check out his whole guitar and vocals rig here.
Security was tight, so I tried taking some pictures of Howie without the display on and keeping the camera low. Nothing came out good.. here's the best picture I got:

Then, before Nickel Creek came on, they made an announcement saying, "No flash photography", implying that taking pictures without flash is ok, right? Towards the end of the concert, I took my camera out and took some pictures. The next thing I know, there's a hand on my shoulder, and a security guard says, "Sir, come with me." He pulls me out of the crowd, and makes me show him the pictures and delete them. Luckily for me (and you!), when I deleted the first picture (being the last one I took), it scrolled around to the beginning, of some older pictures I had on my camera. After flipping through them for a while, he let me go back.

Long night in Tennessee
After a long day ending a long week, there's nothing like coming home from work after midnight, eating some leftover fried rice that I made yesterday, having some peach ice cream, and watching The West Wing. That's all I have to say about that.
http://jtan.info <-- May or may not be up. The hosting service has been rather unreliable. But there it is.

and these days, i wish i was six again
